February happenings Part 2

More fun in February:

Nature walk in Bloomer Park

Jess had a Publishing Party, and got to read one of her published stories out loud.  This one was titled, "Quicksand," and it was realistic fiction inspired by our finding of quicksand on the beaches of South Manitou Island last summer.

This what the roads looked like the afternoon before the school science fair.  Not surprisingly, all events were cancelled.  It was a good call, but it was no fun for the science fair organizer (me)!

The next day was a snow day!  The girls made snow ice cream for breakfast!

I made them work to clear the driveway.

They worked together to make lunch

I was seated at a special table with a special girl!

We worked on a new puzzle on the snow day, too.

At religious ed class, Meg's grade did a skit of Jesus in the garden

It was a sad day when we ran out of our strawberry freezer jam, four whole months before strawberry season!  I had to use *storebought* strawberries to make more jam!  Gasp!

I got two new amaryllis bulbs this year.  This one was the first to bloom - Minerva.

Meg was amazed by my Meijer receipt.  When it's 5% off day, the receipt is twice as long as usual!

Katie playing in our church's handbell choir.  She's 3rd from the left.

My happy face in Bordine's!!

Katie's choir had a pre-festival concert at the high school.  They sang a few songs with just the 8th grade girls.

And they sang a few songs with the 7th-8th grade boys choir, too.  They had a faux judge come up to the stage and give them tips and advice after their performance.
