Easter

Easter weekend started with a trio of soccer games. Meg's was first. She scored a goal to tie the game, while on defense, with her left foot, with 30 seconds to go in the game!

Then we had our neighborhood Easter egg hunt:

Then Katie had her first game of the season. She was incredible on defense, and she scored a goal off a corner kick! Unfortunately, it was called back due to a handball. :(

Jessi had a game, too, but I forgot to take pics. She was a goal-scoring machine! I think she had six goals, and several assists. We all got our first sunburns of the spring. Maybe they'll let me put on sunscreen next week!

We dyed eggs:

Easter morning:

After church:

Katie decorated all of the cookies:

We had a delicious dinner out on the deck. It was 70-something and quite hot and sunny!

Meg had to finish the sparkling cider. (This kid is getting homeschooled for college!)

Finally, we decorated the lamb cake. It was a success!

It looked more like Beau than a lamb!

End of spring break

Our last morning on Chincoteague:

Cool new shirts:

We made it to Graytown in about 9 hrs, and even had time to play at a park and eat pizza! On Saturday, we did some archery before heading home:

Once we pulled in the driveway, we found that Chris had gotten down all of the bikes! We immediately hopped on them and biked to the cider mill for ice cream:

Little Jess biked all on her own, the whole 8 miles! Her first ever ride that long!

We also went to Bordines spring expo sat afternoon. There was a mermaid!

Sat night, we had a big storm with hail and crazy winds, and we lost power til Sun afternoon. To pass the time, we went back to Bordines!

Capt Jack Sparrow was there, too!

Mon was back to school :( meg had a fever and had to stay home Monday and Tuesday.

Tues morning we woke up to:

We broke Detroit's snow record! About 50% more snow than Alpena, believe it or not! The record we broke was set in 1880-1, which was "the long winter," by Laura Ingalls Wilder! Meg and I just read that book this winter, not knowing we would have a winter to beat it!

Jess had soccer practice in the snow on Tues afternoon. (Blame her crazy coach, Chris!). But spring came back the next day, and we've loved seeing the snow melt and the flowers pop up all week!
