Chincoteague bliss

We had an amazing day! We started by visiting a FWS visitor center on Assateague Island. Then we went straight to the beach. The water was freezing, but that didn't stop the girls from playing in the waves, running all over, and finding zillions of shells.

Then we went to the NPS visitor center on the island. The girls are going for the junior ranger badge! They loved the shell collection there, and the touch tank.

We saw our first pony on the drive!

After a late lunch on Chincoteague Island, we rented bikes and biked around Assateague Island.

We biked around saltwater and freshwater marshes, forest, and beaches. It was so much fun!

More pony sightings:

Assateague lighthouse:

Stopping to rescue a little turtle:

Later we found a bigger guy on the path!

On the bridge back to Chincoteague to return our bikes. Still all smiles after 2.5 hrs of biking!

Some ponies in town, they are owned by the fire dept, and these didn't sell last year.

We had a pizza dinner in our room and watched another gorgeous sunset from our hotel.

What an awesome place!
