Smart kids

We have some smarty pants kids!

Katie made the honor roll! She had three A's and one B for the first quarter! She has had a wonderful transition and start of 6th grade!

At Megan's conferences, her teacher said she's impressed with Megan's reading and her understanding. She said Meg's reading above grade level and doing great. Most importantly, she said Meg is comfortable in the new school, and has lots of friends!

At Jessica's conferences, we heard much of the same. Jess is a leader and is often asked to help her classmates. She is friends with everyone in the class.

Here's Jess dressed for the 50th day of school. We tried to create a 50's look with a monogrammed cardigan, poodle skirt, bobby socks, and pig tails. They had a 50's party, with a sock hop and root beer floats. Jess loved doing the twist and the hand jive!

Jess does amazing work. One of her latest homework assignments was to (have a parent) read a favorite book, retell the story to the other parent, and draw a picture of your favorite part. Isn't this a crazy good drawing??!!

I am lucky to have found good volunteering opportunities with all three girls. I help out at Katie's library once a week at lunch. I help out at the elementary school library about once a week during meg or Jess's visit. I help in Jessi's classroom every other week. It is so fun to spend time with the girls, see their teachers and classmates, see their schools, and learn what they are learning. I am very confident that they are in good schools and have great teachers! It's shaping up to be a great school year!

  1. So glad everything is going well! I loved helping in the classrooms and missed when the boys were too old for helping.
