Weekly review

I have a lot of pictures from a very busy week!

The hummingbirds are back! We rarely see the foxes anymore, so the hummies are our new animal friends!



Katie had two track meets last week. She did shot put in each, and improved each time! Her best throw was 16' 3", much improved from a start at 11" something!






She also ran the mile in each, at 9:17 Monday, and 8:54 Wednesday.

We celebrated Cinco de Mayo in style, with Mexican music, drawings of the Mexican flag, a dinner of super yummy tacos...



...with flan for dessert!



Megan had to do a project on a president, a cereal box with certain facts on each side. She picked James Monroe because they share a birthday!






Our crabapple was gorgeous this week!



Katie had her school open house on Wednesday. Here she is in front of a garden project she helped to organize:



Her locker is still pretty clean!



The 7th grade girls choir:

They sounded fabulous! Their last song was awesome, the pop song "Riptide." Their director was amazed that the group chose the song and pretty much directed themselves with harmonies! He sat down for the song and let the girls perform entirely on their own!

Meg's school service club got to meet a Leader Dog puppy!



Jess' art was selected for the district wide art show!

The girls' choir concert was Friday night. First was Jessi's group:



Then Katie and Meg's group: one of their songs was in Swahili, it was just beautiful!



Katie fell in love with the bell choir and hopes to join it next year!

Chris came home Sat morning. He said goodbye to the 300C:



And we got our annual family picture in:



Then he picked up his brand new Jeep Grand Cherokee! It is the bomb. It not only has butt warmers, but also butt air conditioning! And the sunroof is pretty much the whole top of the car!

Back to Bordines to order a brand new picnic table!



And lots of hanging out together at home. I love the homemade gifts:

This week

It's another Sunday night, so here's our week in review!

Meg finished her Lego set from Katie and Jess in no time:

Yes, our Megan has Chris' sense of humor!!!

On her actual birthday we surprised her with a balloon and streamers. She wore a shirt to match - totally a coincidence!



Dinner request was homemade pizza:



After Jessi's soccer practice, she got to open all of her other presents. Lots of cards!

There were more gifts and super cute clothes, but I didn't get pics. Thanks to everyone!

Katie's first track meet was Wednesday. She did the long jump, shot put, and the one mile. She did GREAT in the mile - ran it in 8:47!!!






Friday was hot, so we had to cool off a bit after school:



Friday night we went to our high school to see Mary Poppins. It was incredible! Seriously as good as a professional show!!



Saturday morning was opening day at the Farmers market, and it was busy! The girls got to pot up veggies:



And got to milk a cow!









And chill with lots of other farm animals:



It was a stunning day!



Then we went to the middle and high school STEAM event, to get kids to consider careers in science etc. It was an awesome event! Lots of projects, demonstrations, and freebies.



Then we had three soccer games yesterday afternoon. Katie's team won, Jess' team won and she had six goals, and Meg's team lost but she had the lone goal and played her heart out.

Last night we had a bonfire, too!

This morning the girls sang in the children's choir for first communion and May crowning. Then three more soccer games!



We're lucky that the weather was so nice this weekend, but boy are we tired from all the sun and exercise!
