Our first stop was to the Grand Canyon on Thursday. We hiked for 3 miles down the bright angel trail.
We stayed the night at a hotel in the park, and got up early to watch the sunrise fri morning. We took another 3 mile hike into the Grand Canyon, this time on the south kaibob trail, which had the most amazing views!
After our hike, on the mile walk back to our car, we saw an elk right by our path! Like 10 ft away! We slowly walked past him and he didn't mind us at all. I was nervous because the edge of the Grand Canyon was just 10 ft on the other side of the path... With no rail!!
We took a shuttle bus to the far western edge of the park and back, and then drove back to Phoenix. We enjoyed a beautiful sunset for about an hour.

The pictures are awesome. Looks like a great adventure.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures, I've never been to the south rim! Too bad the only family shot has a finger in it! Hahahah. Cool elk, it's huge!
ReplyDeleteWhat a memorable adventure! Some day I'll make it there myself.
