We got to celebrate yet another Christmas in Alpena! We opened stockings, opened presents, ate lots of food, and LOTS of cookies! Unfortunately, I don't really have pictures of all that! :(
I do have pictures of our sledding adventure. We drove up ahead of a snow/ice storm that was supposed to change from snow to rain overnight. Well, Alpena never got the notice, and they only got snow! Lots! We tried walking to the Blair St. pier the night of the storm, and the wind off the lake was so intense that Mom and Jessica got blown over! We couldn't even make it to the pier. The wind was insane, and the crashing waves were deafening.
Back to sledding...well, the storm left a beautiful coating of snow, so the next morning we decided to take GG sledding at the Duck Park. No one had ever been to the hill before, but Justin said to cross the bridge, go up the steps, and it's right there. So we crossed the bridge, went up the steps, and...

...started walking... |
|
...still walking... |
|
...GG got a ride from Uncle Chris... |
|
The island was SO pretty!! We were the first ones to walk it!! |
|
...the girls were NOT happy about the long walk... |
|
...but GG was having a blast!! |

At last, we found the hill, after walking around the ENTIRE island! Apparently we had to turn left at the top of the steps. Oops. |
Then we went to the Blair St. pier to look for cool ice formations after the storm. The sand/ice balls we hoped to see weren't on this particular beach. But there were cool icicles on the pier itself!
Back at Mom & Dad's house:
The next morning, we went to Besser Museum. I had a coupon! (of course) I love all museums, and this one was no exception. We all had a fun time.
On New Year's Eve, Jessica spiked a fever, so we had to change our plans to go to our friends' house to watch the MSU bowl game. I stayed home with Jess for the first half, and Chris stayed home with her for the 2nd half. The other girls stayed at the party the whole time! We wore our MSU tattoos, but they did not bring us any good luck this year. :(
