Animal Kingdom

Animal Kingdom opened at 7am on Monday, so we picked that day to go. It was great to get there before the crowds! There were no lines at all til 9am!

The sun was rising as we entered the park:


After several rides on the Expedition Everest roller coaster (Katie & Megan's favorite!), we headed to Dino Land for some tamer rides for Jessica. She loved the Tricera-top Spin ride! We rode it over and over for her.


Then we went on the safari ride. It was a real highlight, all five of us loved it!


We saw many giraffes, including this baby.

Rhinocerous butt in the road. We saw tons of other animals, but I won't bore you with all the pics.

After the safari, we went on several 'jungle treks' and got to see lots of other animals on our walks through the park. Here are the girls by a stand of bamboo. The plants and trees in this park were AMAZING. I loved it!

We got great seats for the Nemo show:

We enjoyed the 4-D Bugs Life movie that was held inside the big tree. Here are Chris and the girls in front of the Tree of Life. The carvings in the tree were so intricate.

By the Christmas tree at the front of the Animal Kingdom park. We went back to our hotel for a few minutes to change before going out to eat at Sanaa' restaurant at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Great food and great scenery - animals wandering all around the resort. It was another fun and exhausting day.
